Krystal Mumphery was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, IL. She grew up in a household where music was always playing. She often heard music blaring out the neighbor's windows or from cars passing by. Home is where she found her passion and love for music. Krystal listens to a melting pot of different genres of music from R&B, Gospel, Pop, House, Soft/Light Rock, Rap/Hip-Hop, Alternative Rock, and Jazz. She likes to hear whatever is sweet and pleasing to her ear.

Although she already had a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, she decided to pursue her passion for music and enrolled in the Master of Arts in Music Business program at Berklee Online. She was initially interested in Music Supervision but discovered her interest in music publishing and rights management. In order to connect with and learn from other women in the music industry, Krystal joined the Chicago Chapter of Women in Music. Soon afterwards, she launched Unclog the Sync LLC in January 2026 to help independent artists manage their music rights.

In a short amount of time, Krystal has developed relationships with heavy hitters in the music industry. She aspires for Unclog the Sync LLC to be a reputable brand for independent artists as it continues to evolve.
